The custom build was executed by Vehicle Effects, a Hollywood specialty vehicle shop known for work in the Fast & Furious franchise.

When Street Fighter II first hit arcades in the early 1990s, players knew exactly what to expect when the bonus stage appeared: a parked sedan that needed demolition before the clock ran out. That pixelated sedan, styled to resemble a first-generation Lexus LS400, became an iconic gaming moment. Now, over thirty years later, that same car has been realized as a fully functional 1994 Lexus LS400, complete with pixel art exterior and arcade-inspired interior details.

A Pixelated Dream Car

The custom build was executed by Vehicle Effects, a Hollywood specialty vehicle shop known for work in the Fast & Furious franchise. Rather than a simple graphic wrap, the team transformed the LS400 to mirror the blocky, 16-bit aesthetic of the original game. The exterior features a retro pixel design with custom trim and modified wheels, while the interior maintains the car’s original 4.0-liter V8 engine and rear-wheel-drive setup.

Inside, the cabin integrates gamer-friendly touches like embroidered “YOU WIN” headrests and an arcade-style coin holder in the center console. These details pay homage to the victory messages and gameplay mechanics that defined the Street Fighter experience. The result is a vehicle that feels both absurd and authentic, blending virtual nostalgia with real-world engineering.

From Arcade to driveway

General auto insurance company has partnered with the Street Fighter promotion to offer the customized LS400 as the grand prize in its Bonus Stage Break Sweepstakes. The contest runs through November 18, 2026, and is open to U.S. residents aged 18 or older with valid driver’s licenses. Winners receive the car plus $25,400.69 in cash, totaling an estimated prize value of $95,116.94.

However, eligibility excludes residents of certain states, so entrants must review official rules to confirm participation. The sweepstakes aligns with the upcoming live-action Street Fighter film, set to premiere on October 16, 2026, adding to the promotional momentum around the franchise’s return to cinema.

Why This Build Works

The project succeeds by merging two distinct forms of nostalgia: the reliability-focused first-gen LS400 and the rebellious energy of Street Fighter II. While the original sedan was celebrated for its smooth ride and engineering, this build reimagines it as a conversation piece. Its exaggerated pixel art design and playful interior details contrast sharply with the LS400’s understated luxury, creating a unique collector’s item.
