Automotive Engineering is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology ( IET ) as partially fulfilling the educational requirements for Chartered Engineer (CEng) status. When you study with us you’ll learn all the key aspects of automotive engineering that will help you to get a job and you’ll have the intellectual, technical and personal qualities needed to implement new technologies in the automotive engineering sector.

The only accredited program of its kind in Canada, our program prepares engineers to meet the need for advancements in the automotive sector by accelerating research and the development of alternative technologies, such as electric and fuel-cell driven vehicles.

I spent a lot of time in garages as my family work in the automotive area and I was always asking questions like how does an engine work?” Coming to University has been a big learning curve for me as I’m learning how to be responsible for myself at the same time as studying.

Students who graduate from this program will have strengths in modern automotive systems, engineering fundamentals, enhanced interdisciplinary skills, and the teamwork skills necessary to guide product and process development in this rapidly evolving field.

Even though it is a new department the students have the advantage of training themselves in very well equipped laboratories of Engineering Faculty including the laboratories like Physics, Chemistry, Personal Computer, Material Testing and Stress Analysis, Heat Transfer, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics and Machine Shop.automotive engineering
